I was fortunate enough to document Danielle’s beautiful wedding day now we just wrapped up her Sonoma County maternity photoshoot . Its always a favorite time of mine to document my previous couples maternity sessions. Watching their journey through life is a perk of the job that is for sure. This is Danielle’s second baby and she is due in the next few weeks.
She was unable to document her first babies maternity shoot because of a few complications so it was a special time to be able to document this for her. She had already done outdoor family/maternity photo sessions and now wanted a more intimate experience. She had an exact look she wanted for her Sonoma County maternity photoshoot with inspiration images in hand. She wanted sultry and moody as well as bright and airy in jeans. I love it when my clients want to get creative!
Danielle’s outfits she chose perfectly complimented her bump. We started with a black free people sweater paired with black panties. We moved on to a pair of Levis and sweater and ended with my favorite, a black matching bra and panty set.
I document a variety types of maternity sessions from outdoor to indoor as well as boudoir maternity. Although each type of maternity session is beautiful I tend to gravitate to the intimate indoor maternity sessions. Most likely its because I remember being pregnant and truly not loving the way I looked. I was extremely critical of my body changing to grow a tiny human and just had a hard time with the changes that come with pregnancy.
A photographer friend of mine took a few images of me when I was pregnant and my favorite one was me wearing a kimono in my bra and underwear. I remember taking the images and thinking theres no friggin way Im going to like these images. But when I got that gallery back and I saw that image it was the first time in my entire pregnancy that I felt beautiful. I loved that image so much I blew it up and its currently hanging in my studio. I remember that feeling of when I saw that image and I want to make sure my clients feel that too.
